It has always been Bybit's primary objective to operate our business in compliance with all relevant rules and regulations. In light of recent developments by the French regulator, and in continuation of the restrictions we previously implemented in the country, we regret to inform you that, starting Jan 8, 2025, Bybit will no longer provide withdrawal and custody services to nationals or residents of the French Territories ("French Users"). We kindly ask that you ensure all assets are withdrawn before this date.

After Jan 8, 2025, users with assets valued at 10 USDC or less will incur a 10 USDC fee and have their accounts closed. For users with assets exceeding 10 USDC, we will initiate the transfer of any remaining funds to our trusted custody partner, Coinhouse, a regulated French crypto-asset platform. Subsequent withdrawals will need to be processed through their platform.

What Will Happen to Your Assets After Jan 8, 2025

For Users with Assets Valued at 10 USDC or Less: 

On Jan 8, 2025, at 8AM UTC, users with assets worth 10 USDC or less will incur a 10 USDC termination fee, charged against their available crypto and/or fiat assets at the prevailing conversion rate. After the fee is deducted, your account will be permanently closed.

Users with assets valued above 10 USDC will have their assets withdrawn from their Bybit accounts. These assets will then be converted into USDC at the prevailing conversion rate, after which the transfer to our trusted custody partner, 

, will begin. As a result, custody fees will commence.

How to Withdraw Your Assets After Jan 8, 2025

Starting Jan 8, 2025, we will begin the process of transferring your assets to Coinhouse. During the transfer process, which will last from 8AM UTC on Jan 8, 2025 to 8AM UTC on Jan 16, 2025, withdrawals will be unavailable. 

You can log into your Coinhouse account, and if the identity of your Coinhouse account matches the one on your Bybit account, your assets will be credited shortly after and will be available for use within your Coinhouse account, including withdrawal.

You will need to open a Coinhouse account and complete their KYC verification. You can register via this 

 or click the "Withdraw Through Coinhouse" button that will appear in the pop-up when using Bybit. Ensure you use the same identity on Coinhouse as you did on Bybit to successfully complete the verification process and withdraw your assets. We recommend that you use the same KYC document, if possible. Upon verification processes and after validation of your Coinhouse Account, your assets will be credited shortly after and will be available for use within your Coinhouse account, including withdrawal.

Clarification on Fees and Conversion Rates

On Jan 8, 2025, at 8AM UTC, all remaining crypto and/or fiat assets on Bybit will be converted to USDC at the prevailing conversion rate at that time. There will be no fees for this conversion.

There will be no fees for transferring your assets to Coinhouse.

Custody Fees: A monthly custody and no activity fee of 0.16% of the total value of your assets or 1 USDC equivalent (whichever is higher) will be charged. This fee will only apply while your assets remain with Coinhouse but you have not completed the KYC verification. Once you verify your Coinhouse account to match your Bybit identity, the monthly fee will no longer apply. The custody fee will be applied monthly, on the first day of each month. The first fee, however, will be charged on the day the assets are transferred to Coinhouse. Users with a verified account matching their Bybit identity will not incur this fee and will see their assets reflected in their account shortly after transfer.

From 8AM UTC on Jan 8, 2025, to 8AM UTC on Jan 16, 2025, you will be unable to withdraw your funds while the transfer of your assets from Bybit to Coinhouse takes place.

If you already have a Coinhouse account that matches the identity on your Bybit account, your assets will be credited starting from Jan 16, 2025. If you have not yet created an account, your assets will be credited shortly once you successfully open and verify your Coinhouse account. Please note that you can create a Coinhouse account at any time, but assets will only be transferred after Jan 16, 2025.
