The Impact of Contract Size Adjustment
The following example shows how the contract size adjustment affects your position. Assume a user holds a long position of 20 SOXX contracts with an average entry price of 200 USDT, and the current mark price is 300 USDT.
|
Before the adjustment |
After the adjustment | |
|
Mark Price (USDT) |
300 |
300 / 3 = 100 |
|
Contract size (SOXX) |
20 |
20 * 3 = 60 |
|
Average Entry Price (USDT) |
200 |
100 |
|
Unrealized PNL |
(300 - 200) × 20 = 2,000 |
0 |
|
Notional Position (USDT) |
200 × 20 = 4,000 |
60 × 100 = 6,000 |
|
Margin Balance |
4,000 + 2,000 = 6,000 |
6,000 |
Note: Values are rounded to two decimal places. After the adjustment, unrealized P&L is reset to 0 and absorbed into the margin balance to make sure there is no change in total equity.
