The Premium Index calculation for USDT Perpetual and Inverse Perpetual Contracts has been adjusted to calculate the funding rate more accurately.

The change aims to help our traders better navigate and capitalize on the price differences between the Perpetual contract market and the Spot market, given that these selected contracts may be subject to higher price fluctuations.

Prior to this adjustment, the Premium Index was calculated based on the Mark price. The calculation for Premium Index and Funding rate were as follows:

Premium Index (P) = ( Max ( 0 , Impact bid price - 

 - Impact ask price)) / Index price + Funding rate of current interval

Funding rate (F) = Premium index (P) + clamp (Interest rate (I) - Premium index (P), 0.05%, -0.05%)

After this adjustment, the Premium Index will be calculated based on the Index price. The calculation for Premium Index and Funding rate will be as follows:

The new calculation has been applied gradually across all USDT Perpetual and Inverse Perpetual Contracts from Aug. 12, 2022, to Aug. 18, 2022. The following table provides a reference date for when each contract will begin using the new method of calculation:
