Derivatives: Upgrade of Take Profit/Stop Loss Feature
To further optimize users' trading experience, Bybit will be upgrading the Take Profit/Stop Loss (TP/SL) feature for USDT Perpetual, Inverse and USDC Contracts. This upgrade will start on May, 10, 2023, 4AM UTC. Stay tuned for more updates.
Here’s a quick overview of the upgraded TP/SL feature for you to get started:
- More Flexible to Place TP/SL Orders
- The upgraded TP/SL feature supports both Entire Position and Partial Position. This provides more flexibility to you in setting your TP/SL orders,
Entire Position: The TP/SL applies to the entire position. Only one TP/SL order can exist for the entire position at any time. The quantity of TP/SL orders will adjust to match the size of open positions. When the price reaches the trigger price, the entire position will be closed at the market price.
Partial Position: The TP/SL applies to the current order quantity. This setting will allow you to place multiple TP/SL orders per position. When the TP (or SL) Trigger Price of individual TP/SL orders are reached, their respective TP/SL order quantities will be closed via either Market or Limit orders, and the corresponding SL (or TP) order will be canceled.
TP/SL orders of Entire Position and Partial Position can exist simultaneously, and the positions will be closed in the order in which the orders are triggered.
- Multiple TP/SL Setting Methods. The upgraded TP/SL feature now supports three (3) ways to set the trigger price of TP/SL orders:
By Price: Enter your preferred TP/SL trigger price, or select a percentage increase or decrease of the current order price to calculate it
By ROI (%): Enter your desired ROI (%) to calculate the trigger price of TP/SL
By P&L: Enter your expected profit or loss to calculate the trigger price of TP/SL
- Limit TP/SL Orders Supported
With the latest upgrade, you can now use the Stop Loss Limit function when setting a TP/SL order (Partial Position). When the TP/SL price is triggered, your position will be executed at the limit price.
Please note that limit TP/SL orders will only be filled at the specified price, but there is a risk that the order may not be filled.
Notes:
1. This upgrade is fully compatible with the current TP/SL feature, and it will not affect your current TP/SL orders.
2. Place TP/SL orders using Partial Position:
— The updated TP/SL feature now allows placing TP/SL orders that are less than or equal to your current position quantity.
— During the upgrade of the TP/SL feature of our system, the settable quantity displayed when modifying TP/SL orders may exceed your current position quantity. However, it's important to note that the actual order quantity that can be placed cannot exceed your existing position quantity when modifying your order.
3. Display problems may occur in the old version of the Bybit App after placing orders via the upgraded TP/SL on the Bybit web page. To ensure a seamless experience on the Bybit App, we highly recommend that you upgrade your Bybit App to version 4.17.0 in a timely manner.
